First performed in St Petersburg in 1895, the world’s most loved ballet Swan Lake will grace South African stages in 2023 when this grand and sumptuous production arrives at Artscape Opera House, Cape Town, from Thursday 13 July 2023 and at the Teatro at Montecasino, Johannesburg, from Wednesday 26 July 2023.

From the first immortal bars of Tchaikovsky’s score, Swan Lake beckons you to another world. Featuring the unforgettable corps de ballet moving in magical unison as the majestic, glimmering swans, this romantic fable of dreamlike transformation inspires awe and wonder.

Following sold out seasons in London, Paris and Sydney, SPBT’s grand, full-length production of Swan Lake comes to South Africa`s most prestigious theatres. The unmissable and stirring ballet will be accompanied by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and Johannesburg Festival Orchestra.
